HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT MEDICAL CANNABIS STRAINS
Choosing the right medical marijuana strain can be a little overwhelming when you are new to it. To make things a little easier, we have put a brief guide together to help find the right medicinal strain for you.
Strains are classified into three groups. Indicas, Sativas and Hybrids.
Indica Strain
Let’s start with Indica.
Indicas are often described as more sedative and relaxing. It is a strain that cases a heavy-bodies, numbing sensation. This strain is best used to combat:
- Insomnia
- Chronic Pain
- Lack of Appetite
- Muscle Tension
- Anxiety (when used at low doses)
- Physical stress
Facts: Indica contains high levels of CBD and is recommended for nighttime use. It causes a sensation colloquially known as “couch-lock”, which means that it gives you a very relaxed and comfortable feeling.
Sativa Strain
Sativa strain produces an energetic effect that is considered to be similar to drinking a cup of coffee. This strain is best for :
- Chronic Fatigue
- Gives Focus / Concentration
- Pain Relief
- Migraines / Headaches
- Glaucoma
- Depression
Facts: Known for it’s energizing “high”, has a large amount THC levels, and is ideal for daytime use.
Hybrid Strain
Don’t forget about Hybrids! Hybrid strains have the best qualities from both Sativa and Indica strains. They can be the right mixture of energizing and calming. Hybrid strains are terrific in treating chronic pain. The combination of the two cannabis strains help keep things clear and reduce the sedative effects.
So remember:
Need to calm down / sleep: Indica
Need energy and stimulation: Sativa
Need a little of both?: Hybrid
